About Us
WWC members are music lovers. We are professional women, teachers and artists - some have chosen music as a vocation, others have enjoyed ensemble singing in the past - all of us enjoy the collegiality of being "Sisters in Song".
Our Story
Rehearsals
Women are caretakers. Our members have family and work obligations - so we take breaks during the season to allow members to schedule the several events and obligations that they may have.

About the Directors
The Sisterhood of Singers began with these two women.
Daphne and Leona have been friends and collaborators in music for more than 30 years. WWC grew out of their love of singing and music making.
Leona Lowery Fitzhugh
Artistic Director
Leona has been Choral Director, Pianist and Music Educator for the past 25 years in the Washington Metropolitan area. She has served in area churches and is currently the Coordinator of the Visual and Performing Arts at Northwestern High School.
Daphne Dunston Wharton
Assistant Director
Daphne is a Vocal Artist and Educator who has worked at Universities and School systems throughout Kentucky, Florida and in the District of Columbia. She is presently a vocal instructor at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
